Guest: Windows 7 Professional with Service Pack 1

I have an USB 2.0/3.0 WD My Passport Essential hard drive that I get the error message, 'Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)'

Device is on the compatability list for the os

The device works in the native os environement, host, but shows up as an unkown device when I VM> Removeable Devices> Western Digital Removeable Disk> Connect (Disconnect from Host) in the guest os.

Anyone know how to fix this?
