Hello All,
There are several applications which are not yet available for Linux which I use and I will be running them in VMware via a Windows virtual machine. I have VMware Workstation 9 running on an UBuntu 12.04.1 host. When I shutdown my virtual machines to close VMware at the end of the night VMware will not release my keyboard and mouse to the host OS and I frequently wind up needing to shutdown/reboot my host via power button. Needless to say that is not a good practice. Prior to switching my host OS to Linux I was using Workstation 8. Is there some new option that I need to enable to tell VMware to release my input devices to the host OS? This happens even after a fresh host OS install with no non-standard applications installed. I also tried both Unity and Gnome as my GUI and it made no difference. I sincerely hope this is not a bug in Workstation and if so they will fix it soon. I also tried running all Ubuntu updates and ensured Workstation 9 has no available updates. Any help is greatly appreciated.
