Running Workstation 8 in Linux 3.12

Hi,

I'm trying to get Workstation 8 to run in Fedora 20, running kernel 3.12. It compiles all the way through but fails on 'Starting VMware Services' if I look at the log it shows failures compiling vmblock, vmnet, vmci.

When it fails on services, I get an error message 'Unable to start services' when I click ok. I get the message 'several modules must be compiled and loaded into the running kernel' I guess it's complaining about the above, because vmblock etc has not successfully compiled.

I've tested running Workstation 10 and that works fine, but I've purchased 8 so I need 8 to work.

I read a bit about getting older versions of workstation to work in newer kernels can be an issue and that you can patch workstation to get it working, but I've been unable to find a patch for kernel 3.12. I tried patches for 3.11 etc, just in case but unfortunately this does not work.

I've attached the VMware log. If anyone can help me with this, that would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
