VMware Workstation 10.01 shows black screen when playing Star Wars The Old Republic

When I launch the game I only get the audio no video. The guest is Windows 8 (Pro 64 bit)  with  1 processor ( two cores per processor) and 6 GB of RAM. I tried editing the vmx file to increase the video RAM and resolution but still could not get it to work.  I previously tried this with a Windows 7 Pro 64 bit OS and got the same results. Here are the  hardware specs of the laptop I am running it on.  Any help would be appreciated. Very frustrating.
