I'm running Ubuntu GNOME 13.10, and I'm not able to use bridged mode with a Windows 8.1 guest. When the machine first boot, it appears to have connectivity since it's able to pull in a DHCP address and judging by the network status has sent and received some amount of traffic, but beyond that I can't pass traffic. I can ping my local IP address, but can't ping the default gateway or beyond. I've re-install VMware workstation and reinstallled the OS (mostly because VMware plays much nicer with Ubuntu GNOME and had some really annoying quirks with Unity). I've looked through logs, but I wasn't able to find anything overly helpful. I've tried switching bridged mode from Automatic to using a specific port, but I seem to be running into the same issue.
Any suggestions or help woudl be greatly appreciated.
