Running win 8.1 host with XP guest. I've noticed that when XP is started the VMware Tools don't start right away, there's a delay while they load. This creates an Error Message in the Event Viewer regarding tools not starting in the allotted time. I've tried Workstation and Player several times and the resulting Tools error always accumulates in the event Viewer. everything works OK, just the annoying error message every start.
Anyone experience this?...........Any answers.
I've also noticed that with any Workstation or Player install I've tried, Installing Windows guest OS is very slow. Compared to a native install or even a Virtualbox Install it takes a good ten minutes longer for VMware to install the OS. Also installing any software on the guest takes forever. I need an XP Guest to run an older AutoCAD version. As an example when I insert the AutoCAD disc it takes an inordinate amount of time to read and install the program, more than ten minutes, when it takes less than 3 minutes natively or on Virtualbox.
Just wanted to see if any other Windows Users have experienced these problems.
