vmplayer segfault fedora19 (with work around)

I'm running fedora 19, kernel-3.9.0-0.rc6.git0.1.fc19.x86_64

vmplayer will not run, producing the following:

The trace of the segfault is attached.

HOWEVER, if I set the environment variable

VMWARE_USE_SHIPPED_LIBS=1

Then, vmplayer will run.  Must be a conflict with a new system lib.
