Vista Host - Linux Guests suddenly to a crawl

Hi there,

I am pretty desperate with my VM-WS Guests.

Here are my specs:

HOST:

Win Vista 32 bit with all updates.

4GB RAM

Guests in a folder on the Desktop

VM Workstation version: 9.0.4 build-1945795

-------------------------------------------

I had a Linux Mint 17 Guest working flawlessly and all of a sudden started crawling.

10 minutes booting

15-ish minutes shutting down

5 seconds after double-clicking a folder to open it

There must be something wrong or corrupted but can't figure out what.

I read around and

- I deleted and reinstalled VM-Workstation - TO NO AVAIL.

- made an exception in my NOD32 antivirus to the VM-Folder on the Desktop

- ran "sfc /verifyonly" on Vista an found no filesystem corrupted

- ran NOD 32, Malwarebytes, HijackThis - nothing strange found

I then deleted all my guests and installed "Ubuntu 9.10" with 512 RAM and VMWare Tools installed, in order to be sure it was a supported guest.

- Installing took forever, almost an hour;

- Same problem as above (10 minutes booting, 15-ish minutes shutting down, 5 seconds after double-clicking a folder to open it)

- I switched Ubuntu RAM to 1 GB, nothing changed.

I remember accidentally clicked once on "Suspend" instead of Shutting off, but I wouldn't know now what files to delete for a complete reset.

I have never done a snapshot.

I deleted "host.maxkHzEstimate.cpuidHash" and "host.maxkHzEstimate.value" in Vista Registry - TO NO AVAIL.

i hereby attach the latest logfile.

Can someone help me out?
