Can you run VMware Workstation without "virtual technology" / operating system not found

I have a core 2 duo that does support virtual technology, as in it's not an option under bios; however, I have a 64bit processor and 4GB RAM. Does this mean that I can't use Workstation?? I have used VMplayer in the past.

When I try to install a guest OS (not selecting 64bit one) It takes me to PXE boot screen and says "operating system not found". I have connect power on at start enabled and I have selected the path to the .ISO, which is the database.ISO provided with workstation, so the .ISO should be fine? No matter what I do I can't get past "OS not found". Is this simply because my processor doesn't support vt?

I also get a message about binary translation...

Any feedback would be great. Thanks!
